本年4月5日〜9日、サンフランシスコで開催されたAANS2014に当科の黒田、富田、秋岡が参加しました。富田は当科における30年間の髄膜腫の手術成績を、秋岡はCEA/CAS後の脳循環動態と高次機能の関連について発表しました。二人とも、米国の脳神経外科の空気に初めて直に触れたほか、Napa Valleyの探訪、昨年7月に富山を訪れてくれたProf. Yenariとの会食などを通して、ますますモチベーションを高めてくれたようです。サンフランシスコ滞在中は北海道大学脳神経外科から留学中の川堀真人先生にも大変お世話になりました。
We joined the annual meeting of AANS held in San Francisco in this April. Dr. Tomita presented a 30-year surgical results of meningioma and discussed the strategies to reduce surgical morbidity and improve the long-term outcome. Dr. Akioka presented his data that cerebral hemodynamics is a key factor to determine post-CEA/CAS cognitive function in patients with carotid artery stenosis. We could enjoy a Peru-style lunch with our friend, Prof. Midori Yenari.
