2022年4月20日、われわれ日本脳卒中中学会が策定した「脳卒中治療ガイドライン2021」の英語版を、World Stroke Organization (WSO)の機関誌である、International Journal of Strokeに出版しました。ガイドラインは決して世界同一ではありません。各国の診断治療の歴史によっても左右されますし、われわれアジアあるいは日本人の持つ体質などによって、薬剤の投与量などの治療方針は欧米のものと異なるのは当然と言えば当然です。しかし、これまでわが国のガイドラインは日本語のみでの出版に留まっていたため、諸外国との差異をきちんと世界に周知できずにいました。その意味で、今回の英語版は画期的な一歩になったと考えています。今後も日本チームが一丸となって、世界の脳卒中治療の発展に貢献していきたいと思います。今回の英語版の出版にあたっては、京都大学脳神経外科・宮本 享先生、岩手医科大学脳神経外科・小笠原邦昭先生、国立循環器病研究センター脳血管内科・豊田一則先生ほか、数多くの先生方のご尽力を賜わりました。ありがとうございました。

Japan Stroke Society Guideline 2021 for the Treatment of Stroke.
On April 20, 2022, we, the Japanese Stroke Society, published the English version of the Stroke Treatment Guidelines 2021 in the International Journal of Stroke, the official journal of the World Stroke Organization (WSO).
The guidelines are by no means identical worldwide. They are influenced by the history of diagnosis and treatment in each country, and it is quite natural that the dosage of drugs and other treatment strategies differ from those in the West, depending on the physical constitution of the Asian and Japanese people. However, until now our guidelines have been published only in Japanese, so we have not been able to make the differences between our guideline and those of other countries in the world. In this sense, we believe that this English version of the guidelines is a landmark step forward. We, the Japan team will continue to work together to contribute to the development of stroke treatment around the world.
