われわれ厚生労働省もやもや病研究班は、昨今のもやもや病の疾患概念や診断法の変化に応じて、診断基準を7年ぶりに改訂しました。このほど、日本脳卒中の外科学会の機関誌「脳卒中の外科」にその背景と内容について報告させていただきました。まもなく英語版も出版して、世界中の医師や研究者たちとも共有する予定です。

Revision 2021 of Diagnostic Criteria for Moyamoya Disease
We, Research Committee on Moyamoya Disease sponsored by Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, Japan, have revised the diagnostic criteria for moyamoya disease for the first time in seven years in response to recent changes in the disease concept and diagnostic methods. We have recently reported on the background and contents of the revision in “Surgery for Cerebral Stroke,” the official journal of the Japanese Society for Surgery on Cerebral Stroke in Japanese. We will soon publish an English version to share it with physicians and researchers around the world.
