この秋、北海道大学病院で開始した「脳梗塞急性期患者に対する幹細胞を用いた新たな治療法の医師主導治験」について、2017年11月10日、AMED（国立研究開発法人日本医療研究開発機構）からプレスリリースされました。
当科の黒田が、この臨床試験を着想したのが1999年でしたから、ここにたどり着くまで18年かかったことになります。共同研究者の一人として、今後のさらなる発展を期待しています。

Phase I clinical trial entitled “stereotactic transplantation of autologous bone marrow stromal cells for patients with ischemic stroke” has been started at Hokkaido University Hospital, Sapporo, Japan. Until here, 18 years has passed since this project was started. As one of collaborators, Prof. Kuroda strongly hopes that this innovative concept of cell therapy would further advance in very near future.
